Our orthodontist Ana P\u00e9rez Pardo has been awarded with the first prize in the XIV National Congress of the Spanish Society of Child Dentistry thanks to her communication entitled 'Sleep-disordered breathing in a child population'.<\/p>\n
The congress, which was held on 27 March and in which the orthodontist had the support and collaboration of our paediatric dentist Vanesa Rico, brought together 25 speakers, including names such as Silvia Chedid and M\u00f3nica Bartuilli, and addressed different issues as diverse but complementary as speech therapy, nutrition, ASD and MIH, among many others.<\/p>\n
Given the importance that we at the clinic have always given to the fundamental role of prevention and our vision of the dental society as something multidisciplinary and interprofessional, the recognition of our colleague's work is doubly important, as it not only recognises her as a top-level professional in her field, but also supports our growing belief in the early detection of any respiratory alteration during sleep in children, and the unified work between orthodontics, paediatric dentistry and speech therapy, but also supports our growing belief that early detection of any respiratory alteration during sleep in children, and the unified work between orthodontics, paediatric dentistry and speech therapy, among others, allow us to correct the imbalances that generate alterations in orofacial development and allow them to grow and develop in the most optimal way possible.<\/p>\n
After collecting the award, our colleague Ana wanted to thank not only our colleague Vanesa for her help, but also to highlight that her close collaboration with the speech therapist Sara Ena from Murcia is fundamental in the Neuro-Occlusal Rehabilitation (NOR) therapies that we successfully implement every day in the clinic.<\/p>\n
