  1. - Comfort: <\/strong>the aligners are fully customised. The material they are made of is smooth and polished, so they do not cause any discomfort. In addition, the forces applied with aligners are progressive, so we will not notice the \"squeezing\" that we used to feel with braces.

  2. – Effectiveness: <\/strong>aligners must be worn for at least 22 hours a day. This means that the teeth can follow the planned movement of the aligners at all times, without unforeseen delays. However, when a bracket comes off, the tooth to which it was attached has the ability to return to its original position, so when patients come for their monthly orthodontic check-up with loose brackets, we have delays in treatment, as we have to go back to an earlier phase in order to \"recover\" those teeth whose brackets have come off.

  3. – No dietary restrictions: <\/strong>Patients undergoing treatment with aligners can remove their braces to eat. In this way, we avoid food remains between the brackets, which we then have to clean with special care to avoid possible caries. In addition, we can eat any food without having to change our habits, something that we would have to change with fixed appliances, where we would have to restrict hard and sugary foods in general.

  4. - Flexibility: <\/strong>check-ups with braces are monthly. However, patients with aligners follow their treatment from home, so we can space out the visits to 6-8 weeks.
