Our partner Fran Sánchez-AlcarazDr. Carlos Oteo and Dr. Silvia Oteo, from the area of periodontics and prosthetics, have been trained in the management of the gingival smile thanks to a course given on 10 November at the Murcia Dental Association by Dr. Carlos Oteo and Dr. Silvia Oteo.
The different causes of a gummy smile and the treatments indicated to correct it were explained. They emphasised the importance of tackling this problem from a multidisciplinary approach and involving the areas of periodontics, orthodontics, restorative, aesthetic medicine and maxillofacial surgery if necessary, a philosophy that we also share and apply in our dental clinic and with which our dental colleague felt very much in agreement.
