Orthopulse is a cellular photo-biostimulation device that can halve orthodontic treatment time, according to some studies.
How does it work?
Orthopulse uses LED light producing 850 nanometres of light, which is close to the infrared spectrum. This light acts on our body by accelerating cell metabolism and leading to biological processes such as vasodilation and angiogenesis which provide analgesic effect and reduce pain.
This light directly affects the mitochondrial tissue by means of photochemical effects, thus facilitating both bone and connective tissue remodelling. In other words, its use accelerates bone regeneration after tooth movement, reducing treatment time, pain and inflammation.
In addition, Orthopulse limits the risk of caries and apical resorption by strengthening periodontal tissue and minimising the risk of gingivitis.
How is it used?
To obtain the right results, we must use it 10 minutes a day on the upper teeth and another 10 minutes on the lower teeth, which will accelerate the movement of the teeth by 50-60%, thus favouring the regeneration of the bone more quickly.
It also has an application that can be downloaded to your mobile phone, either on iOS or Android operating systems, which allows you to monitor your treatment on a daily basis, as well as its progress.
