Our colleague Ana Perez, a dentist who practices exclusively in the field of dentistry, is a orthodontics in Murcia, has completed a practical course in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) in children and adults. Given the high prevalence of this pathology, we consider the training that Ana has acquired both in the diagnosis and early detection of this condition and in treatment using intraoral devices to be of great relevance and interest.
The course took place in Salamanca and was given by different multidisciplinary specialists, such as Patricia Fernández Sanjuan, Emilio Macías Escalada, Félix de Carlos Villafranca and Alma Delia Luna Mata, addressing apnoea from a clinical perspective and their own experience in different fields, from sleep units to orthognathic surgery, including, of course, orthodontics.
